Discipline.
I admit that drugs are bad, and all who deal with it are probably in for some form of punishment.
But hanging a man only serves to scare a few without addressing the real problem. Drug abusers, not drug traffickers.
Singh, Nguyen's executioner very knowledgeably shared:
“You are talking about the life of one drug trafficker. But what about the thousands who suffer because of the drugs? They become complete failures, their lives are ruined.”
The market sells what is in demand. If there was no drug demand, there'd be no drug market.
USERS CHOOSE. To buy, to use. Providing a source does not get them started. Not having a source might hinder them, but it does not stop them. When there is a will, there is a way. When one option is unavailable, there's always other pharmaceutical drugs that are abused. Or worst yet, STATIONERY.
If there was ever a place to start fixing this, it would be in the homes of the officials themselves.
Quit being so bloody self-righteous or pretend to do work by executing someone once every blue moon.
As a Chinese saying goes - The foundation of your country lies in your home. Literally.

HERE HERE.
making a mule a scapegoat is not going to do anything. if the program were so successful, they would have eradicated this trade by now.
and it's completely inhumane - the methods they use to administer punishment. 6 minutes while you asphyxiate if you haven't already blacked out, 6 minutes for your brain to die. 15 minutes to be completely dead. 30 minutes the time they leave you hanging.
cruel, senseless, knee-jerk.
what's worse is when people try to justify it because they either want blood or they're so brainwashed by the state that they can't see it's inhumane. there are better ways to administer justice.
omg this topic pisses me off so bad kimm...
baseless skull fracture incurs an instant death unless the noose was badly done in which case the executioner would get fired.
either ways, hanging is cruel and so is any other death penalty. but personally, after watching shawshank redemption n seeing what a lifetime in prison does to u, i'd rather get hanged hehe.
n yes, justice starts from home. amen to that man!
al.. 'better ways to administer justice' - u got tht right. i reckon using criminals to do lifetime community work with minimum pay is more fruitful than hanging.
i guess what the justice system has gone for is the element of fear. which is #@* stupid.
merv.. shawshank redemption? not watched - shall find. i think my sympathy for them comes from the movie The Green Mile.
dying does seem to be a better option i suppose (watch too many movies). but it's not right to end someone's life like that. hell. even dogs get 'put to sleep'.
