Something Awful

I'm no fan of anime, though I do watch it from time to time.

Paying homage (kind of) to it is Photoshop Phriday on somethingawful.com. Here are just a few of my favourites.

-------------

I hate confrontations. They rerun in my head for hours/ days after it has happened. Though I know I was in the right, I acknowledge the probability that there is room for error.

It kills me that I've made someone feel bad, put them on the spot — even if the person is quite a bitch.

As Lawi knows, we're both victims of the Everybody Must Love Me syndrome.

But yet I will not stand being made a fool and taken advantage of.

I will not be the quiet, placid one who just takes it in, and never loses it.

Someone told me that this whole 'standing up for yourself' business gets easier after a couple of tries.

Does it?

Singing that same ol' song

"I'll be home for Christmas.." blares Nat King Cole on my nokia music player.

"Not yooouuu," mocks my cousin.

:(

I'm stuck here, and I'm going to be all grown up about it.

I have downloaded double, triple copies of every good Christmas song on mp3 and are constantly listening to them while wearing my Christmas hat.

I've bought a 4ft tree which I've lugged all around the living room trying to find the perfect spot for, finally settling on the study table in my room.

A Christmas tree in my bedroom?! I know. Siaw right? Well, I'd rather that than having the new Yemen roomies/ their friends/ Arab roomie/ his friends sabotaging it.

I've decorated it with as much stuff as the poor tree could handle. Christmas trees aren't about expensive decor or colour schemes; they're about being as gaudy as you possibly can, dangling one-eyed santas with cotton peeking out of his ass, and snowmans with broken noses.

But as I don't have those here, I settled for an Ikea set of decor that included three different types of silver balls and a couple dozen snowflakes.

Under the tree, are presents for my family which I am sending through my cousin who is going home this Sunday.

Basking under its RM7.90, 100 biji tiny bulbs also, is Optimus Prime, with Psyduck perched on its leg and Fairy Dust by his side.

I have no presents because I've sabo-ed Moobs into giving them to me earlier.

:D

Come Christmas day, my sis will be over here for dinner, I will be cooking (or ordering in), and we will attend mass.

And then she will go home.

And hopefully, I can maintain.

Here's a taste of what Christmas is like in Malaysia.

Mia Palencia - The Christmas I Know

And here's my favourite song in the entire Double Take Christmas album.

Merry Christmas :)

Pants off.

Whoever you are Mr. Peter Nguyen, I salute you.

And for those of you who've clicked that link and read the essays and think I'm bonkers, well, I am.

-------

I was meaning to show you guys a photo and video of the silver Elvis, a street performer who hung around Berjaya Times Square on Sunday.

Unfortunately, I used my phone's camera.

All that trouble of shoving my sis out to take a photo with him. She was even dragged up onto his little pedestal and had to tolerate his belly.

Anyway, here's one someone else took of him in Toronto.

Judging from this person's video and the scene I saw on Sunday, Malaysians, for once, were the more supportive audience. That could also translate into Malaysians = Sakai. But lets stay positive.

-------

So far I've had no Christmas wishes, so Santa (that means you), could you contribute to my digital camera fund please? Mine's broken =(

In any case, what's a good, sturdy, digicam in the market to get these days? I'm all for Nikon and am in love with their SLRs, but with my wage?

Louis Armstrong sings,"Give me a kiss to build a dream on, and my imagination, will build upon that kiss."

How on earth am I going to venture into photojournalism if I can't even afford a digicam, I don't know.

Spidey Boogie

Saw this at Toys 'R Us and just simply couldn't help but be facinated.

That little stiffled mmrhmmhrmmp at the back is me. =P

So sue me for my juvenile sense of humour.

Ugly Soup

Good intentions don't always turn out well, neither do dinners.

Moobs got a bit too enthusiastic while making dinner last night, and as the saying goes (with a twist): too many ingredients spoil the broth.

Humour me and rate on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the bestest) - 'How yummy does this soup look?'.
