It's called having a life.

Tentative life plan is:

Fly back to Kuching on June 16
Attend Mike's wedding on July 5
Fly back to KL on July 10
Fly off to Sydney on July 11

Darling LC is letting me crash at her place for a bit. I <3 you!

But need to find a place for both of us before our classes start (July 21 for Moobs, 28 for me).

There's so much throwing away, leaving behind, packing, selling and deciding to do!

But I just can't!

-------------------

Everyday has been a Sunday since last Thursday.

I still wake up about 9am (working habits die hard), take a shower, and then read a little.

An hour after, I potter to the bedroom and annoy Moobs so that he'll wake up. And then we laze about and annoy each other for another hour.

Then we'll have brunch and watch a TV show or if we're feeling restless, we go to Mid Valley, eat, then window shop; shoes and dresses for me, transformers and games for him.

When we're all tired out, we go to Borders, or to the movies because before 6pm it's only RM8.

After that, we get some groceries then we go home.

And the notdoingmuchandjustbeingasIam continues even there.

I love unemployment!

---------------

But in retrospect, my 'unemployment' week has involved also:
- attending the opening of a menswear boutique
- interviewing a former channel [V] VJ for a cover story
- arranging for another interview and shoot with a theatre performer
- spa review
- meeting up with and old friend for tea
- getting a hair cut

Also have a wedding dinner to go for tonight, and ex-colleagues wanna go drinking and partying afterwards.

Tomorrow, I've planned to go for the Walk for Media Freedom, but there's news that it has been cancelled. So I don't know.

And there's the Odissi art exhibit that I wanna go see too tomorrow at the Petronas Art Gallery.

Not that much free time after all :S

Die, witch! Die!

Moobs and I have just had a shouting match with the bitch of a housemate we have and in the process, woke everyone in the house up. And now, both of us can't sleep.

He can't because he's just pissed, and something was wrong with our Internet (largely my fault but another shameful story for another day), but is fixed now.

Me because I keep on replaying all the things that I want to say to her and all do things I wanna do to her (poke her in the eye slap her in the face and yank out all her hair).

And because I can't sleep and will probably feel horrid later, I don't think I'll be going for my spa review later today. Will call PR first thing in the morning and postpone if for another day.

Bitch. Make me miss my spa. Pepet rot.

Drat.

Last Thursday was my last day at work, and the reason why I've failed to update my blog is not because Moobs is back from Sydney, but because:

1. laptop has been sent for repair
2. busy sorting out work appointments after I finish up with my job (am doing some freelance work)
3. I am down with hayfever

Foggy brain not conducive to blogging. Will write more when I'm in a clearer state of mind (and nose).

The night is too short

"Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say, humbly, 'Go on, do Deformed Rabbit... it's my favourite.'" -- Small Gods, Terry Pratchett

---------------

Didn't have time to blog yesterday because I spent most of the night photoshopping Moob's SPM cert to make it more legible so that IDP would accept it.

And just when I thought I could go to bed at 12.30am, I remembered that I had put a load of laundry to wash (all his clothes), and needed to hang them, which ultimately led to folding the clothes that were on the hangers from the previous laundry wash, which also led to my removing lint from his shirts with paper tape.

So when I finally crawled into bed at 1.30am, I thought I'd just sink into it.

But I didn't. I don't know why.

Which resulted in my getting up at 6am (note getting up, not waking up).

Crummy day grrr. I want sleep.

----------------

I don't know if I should be happy, but the people at the laundrette think I'm still in college and earlier today, someone at work said I looked like I was in my early 20s.

-----------------

Whilst doing work, stupid interns had to go discuss American Idol 7 results and I accidentally found out the results.

Castro, don't go.

*sniffles*

It's not weird anymore

My last day of work has been confirmed - May 22.

It feels too soon.

-------------

I don't know if it's a good thing that I am getting used to your not being around.

I didn't know I was still capable of being self-sufficient.

But one thing I can't do for sure, and that is giving myself massages.

*hint* *hint* *hint*

-------------

Poor colleague had three years worth of research go down the drain today when the cleaners accidentally threw boxes of his documents away.

To be fair, they didn't look very important in the worn box they were stored in.

Poor, poor man.

------------

Waited for a minister for TWO HOURS today. Nearly passed out from hunger. Finished a quarter of Terry Pratchett's Small Gods while waiting.

Was kind of hoping someone would suggest we all boycott him and leave, but I guess everyone was just doing the "just five more minutes" thing in their head.

That's 24 times of five minutes eh. :P

-------------

Oh, forgot to tell you over the phone just now, but our 'favourite' flatmate is unemployed due to retrenchment in her company.

The night is too long

The editor talked to me today about my uni stuff, what I was going to do, when it would start and why I wanted to do it.

I think he was trying to fish for information to see if I could stay longer with the company.

-------------

Talked to HR today, my last day at work should be the third week of the month, after taking account of the leave days I am owed.

Which scares me a little because it makes being unemployed quite real. I've never really been unemployed before.

My first job was in Kuching, a months after I finished my degree.

Then I quit that job and a month later, I got this one.

The thing is, during the one month in between getting a job, I had always known I would be able to (get a job) because I thought humbly (as in I constantly felt that I was undeserving of any job).

But now, I've got a bit of ego and I'm fear that God will punish me for my pride, for resigning even before I get accepted into uni.

So what did I do to salvage the situation? I went around to the editors of various sections and begged them to give me freelance work which I could do at the end of this month and sporadically in June.

So far, I've nabbed three profile cover stories.

So this is what a life with purpose feels like :)

-------------

Because I worked yesterday, I thought today was Tuesday.

Realising that it's Monday and there's still three nights of sleeping alone to go was really very disappointing.

--------------

My neck and shoulders ache really bad.

You owe me a very, very long massage.

The room is too clean

My colleague T's uncle-in-law had just passed away, the man was about 80 years old.

In a move to console the man's wife, who was crying in the backseat of the car, he said:

"Don't worry lah aunty. You're quite old also, you won't live very long. You will see him soon."

Yes, he really did say that.

And the thing is - she agreed with him.

O_O

----------------

In a bid to create more things for myself to do when you're away, I've actually created more things to do than I can handle.

It's 1.15am and I just finished three freelance write-ups which I was told about at least two weeks ago.

I just figured with you out of the way, I'd have more free time than I can handle.

And I did (have too much free time), but that was yesterday.

I must never procrastinate again.
I must never procrastinate again.

It must be said though, that I am surprised at how efficient I can be when pressed for time.

I finished one personality profile story, a gadgets column (with some help from Merv) and the VSA advertorial in only about 2 hours.

It usually takes me an entire day because I wander off and daydream about stuff.

I must not daydream so much.
I must not daydream so much.

---------------

Met up with Spence for dinner at Manhattan Fish Market in KLCC just now.

It was really, really fun.

Has been awhile that I just sat down with a friend (and his friend) and just talked nonsense.

Conversations with normal people and journalists is somehow different. Conversation with boyfriend also is different. Don't know why, just different.

But it was not all nonsense as Spence helped me figure out that I did not need to file my taxes because I was not subjected to the monthly deductions in 2007. Not quite sure why but I am not complaining.

So relieved I don't have to go to jail or get fined (deadline for taxes was on Weds).

On the down side, I was hoping that the government owed me money.

--------------

I bought the vege balls from Cold Storage that I liked for supper.

But am too full from dinner so can't eat them.

But cannot keep them in the fridge cause Shirley or someone turned off all the lights outside and I don't like pottering about outside in the dark.

Yes, I'm afraid of the dark.

So hopefully the vege balls don't go bad in the room.

You reckon turning on the aircond helps?

The bed is too big

Just in case I forget to tell you when you get back:

1. On the TV show Trippin' today, Janice slips and falls in the water while wakeboarding.
Her instructor tells viewers: "She fell because the water is slippery".

2. My butt ached from shopping too much.
Dust makes my nose runny.
Also, I don't like people walking too close to me. Gimme my personal space, mister!

3. Yoshinoya's chicken katsu don is NOT GOOD.
The chicken's fried with breaded crumbs and they put ginger on top of it all and the egg didn't resemble egg.

4. I've watched about 30 minutes worth of The Golden Compass so far and have no clue what it's going on about.

5. You put the steamer tray and plates from the steamed chicken you cooked into the sink but forgot to wash them. :P You owe me one.

6. I've got so much freelance work due on Monday but I just can't get myself to do it.

7. I really want a foot massage now.

Grrr.

I gave the company my resignation letter and the required one month's notice today, although I haven't received my university acceptance yet (for those who don't know, I've applied to study my Masters in Sydney).

I just don't like my company much anymore (I do understand that whether I liked it or not will be the least of my problems if I'm looking into garbage bins for scraps of banana peel).

Here's to hoping that this isn't the one decision I regret when I'm old and decaying with tubes stuck down my nose.

--------------------

Tardiness frustrates me.

All forms and levels of it.

I hate it that people are late, don't do things when they've got time to do them and push it off until tomorrow. Which is usually fine, but not when tomorrow = deadline.

When you say you've "finished" something, that means there's nothing else to be done.

That means there are no more photos to take, forms to fill.

Anything other than that is merely almost finished. There IS a difference.

This does not do much for my rage problem, I can tell you that.

Iron man! Angry! Blast your head off!

--------------------

God, or whatever it is you're called these days, please let me not be neurotic.

Thank you.
