I had a pair but they kind of died.

Quiet goodbyes

I've been home for about a week now - and loving it!

Though I regret the fact that I haven't met up with any friends yet whom I assume are busy with work while I remain mostly unemployed, I can't say I haven't enjoyed not doing anything important.

I drift through most days; doing chores for my mom, helping my brothers with their lessons, talking to my dad and watching TV.

I take it all in slowly, keeping all the moments, every joke and meal shared, so that I'll have something recent to remember them by for the time that I will be away.

I know it isn't going to be as tragic as I make it out to be, Pisceans are known to over think things.

But it's hard not to wonder if taking such a leap, going back to the books, is the sane thing to do.

SCREW THIS.

Don't even feel it's okay to fucking write on my own blog when I'm feeling pissed.

I need brain suspenders

Went to deal with my student visa today and then went to the bank to get money so that I could pay for the medical check up I would have to do in order to get the visa approved.

I lost my ATM card at the bank. For the second time this year (and it's only June!).

Don't ask me how, where and whatever, because I can't remember.

All I know is, I used it to print a mini statement so that I could get my bank account number to bank in a cheque, and when I wanted to use it again to draw money (don't ask me why I didn't do both at once), it wasn't there anymore.

I think I might have forgotten to take it out of the ATM machine after I got my mini statement.

My head is so floofy I don't know how I'm going to survive overseas.

Thankfully my dad doesn't read this, otherwise he might just change his mind and decide that I am not responsible enough to go Aussie on my own after all :P

To buy or not to buy?

I've always loved taking photos but felt it too expensive a hobby to pick up, not to mention that I don't really have time for it in KL with a full time job.

But now that I'm going to Sydney, and will undoubtedly be quite free as I am only allowed to work 20 hours a week and there are only four subjects a semester, I am lusting after Nikon's D40.

Not being able to afford a brand new one, have found someone who wants to sell his for RM1300, which includes kit lens, a 1GB memory card and the shutter count is below 5800.

One thing Lainie said that struck me as being particularly true, "When you can't afford to do anything else over there, at least you can still take pictures."

This begs the question: should I?

And I reaaaaaally, reaaaaallllly want it.

I had the exact Mickey Mouse Game & Watch as a kid but it fell into the stairs (it's a complicated piece of architecture, difficult to explain without elaborate hand gestures) at my relative's place and that was the end of it.

But the people who are selling it are letting it go at what I feel is a bit of a cut throat price of 35 pounds. Including postage, that'll be RM300 or so.

And with next month's move to Sydney (yes, it's that soon!), I don't think I should be frivolous and spend on things I don't need/ have space for.

Damn common sense!

My journalism experience thus far is difficult to sum up, so when posed with one of those "what was your most memorable experience" sort of questions, my mind goes blank.

It is difficult to measure the worth of an experience; the people you meet and talk to, the things you see, is beyond adjectives and wordy descriptions.

I could tell you about the who, what, where, when and why - and yet it will never suffice in telling you the story.

As Terry Pratchett said, it is disturbing that journalists are required to chop up the world into lumps of 150 words or less.

After all, who am I to tell you what is important and what you need to know?
